  1. While a closed short sale will save you from fore­clo­sure, it can also have a neg­a­tive effect on your credit score, fre­quently low­er­ing it by as much as 150 points. How­ever, the most com­mon that I have seen is a 30– 40 point drop. This can be over­come more quickly than the black eye of a fore­clo­sure, espe­cially if you man­age to take care of other credit accounts respon­si­bly.     I went last evening to Bor­ders. The March issue was on the shelf. I asked at the counter for the Feb­ru­ary issue but they just smiled and said some­thing like, “not a chance” so I will be order­ing mine today. That’s what hap­pens with pro­cras­ti­na­tors. Great Post!
